Supergirl Preview ‘For the Girl Who Has Everything’

On this week’s episode of Supergirl, we are going to Krypton?

At the end of the previous episode, Kara gets attacked by a gross plant thing that was growing in her apartment. It is a parasite called the Black Mercy and it attaches itself to Kara, putting her in a coma and transporting her consciousness to a Krypton that was never destroyed. We’ll get to see Kara with her parents (played by Robert Grant and Laura Benanti) as well as a young Kal-El (Daniel DiMaggio). Thus far, we haven’t really seen a whole lot of Krypton, so I am really excited that we are getting an opportunity to travel to the planet.

The Black Mercy is reminiscent of a story line from the animated TV show Batman Beyond in which a star-like creature attaches itself to Superman and controls him, eventually causing him to turn against the Justice League. It doesn’t seem like the plant will turn Kara evil and will instead just trap her within the dream until she dies.

The preview heavily features Astra, who appears talking to Hank and Alex about the plant. If Astra is there, that means things are really bad.

The question is, who left the plant in Kara’s apartment? Could it be a plot of Non and Astra’s to maybe convince Kara to come to their side? Who knows how it got there. We’ll just have to wait until Monday to find out.
