In a recent interview with The H0llywood Reporter, Joel Kinnaman took the time to speak about Season 5 of House of Cards and the interview states that it contains spoilers. If you’re a fan of the series and you don’t mind finding out ahead of time what’s going on in the minds of some characters, or what may be next for them, you can check out the interview here.

He also answered a couple of questions about Suicide Squad 2 and says that it should start filming sometime in 2018. He believes they’re writing the script now. He also says that he’d love for David Ayer to direct it, and regardless of if he does or doesn’t, he wants the characters in a more ‘normal’ place than they were in the first film. He thinks seeing the dynamic in that light would be exciting.

What’s the status of the Suicide Squad sequel and will you be back for it?

As far as I know, they’re writing the script and I think the plan is to shoot it sometime in 2018, but that could change. I think I’ll definitely come back for it.

There’s no director attached to it yet. Who do you want to direct it?

Ultimately, I’d love for David Ayer to direct it, but if he doesn’t want to direct it then someone who is great with character and that’s able to ground the story and maybe put these characters in a more normal situation. It would be really interesting to see these crazy characters interact with regular people as well.

It’s clearly too soon to get any other information from him, but the idea that he’s got in mind is one we’re totally on board with. We, too, would like to see the characters in a totally different environment this time around.
