Stunt Driver Tragically Killed After an On-Set Accident While Filming ‘Deadpool 2’

In a freak accident on Monday, a stunt driver was tragically killed on set while filming a scene for the upcoming film Deadpool 2.  According to authorities, the tragedy occurred after her motorcycle crashed during filming.

The Vancouver Police Department made an announcement via social media and also released an official statement saying, “Vancouver Police can confirm that a female stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool during a stunt on a motorcycle.  VPD officers are at the scene, along with officers from WorkSafeBC. More information will be released when it is available.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, a spokesperson for 20th Century Fox issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”

The identity of the stunt driver is currently being withheld, however, Vancouver’s CTV News has reported that the scene involved riding a motorcycle through Jack Poole Plaza when something went tragically wrong.  The stunt driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to crash into a window.
