After three years of build-up, Netflix has finally unveiled the first official trailer for season four of the hit sci-fi series Stranger Things. Dedicated followers have been counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds until the anticipated trailer — and now it’s here.
The Netflix original series has unveiled the official trailer today, which you can watch above, and it includes most fan favorites that fans have fallen in love with throughout seasons — notably Eleven, Hopper, Joyce, Steve, and the core youngsters group.
The penultimate season will focus on the repercussions of the highly praised third season finale and include several characters who are now estranged from each other.
The official synopsis is as follows:
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
From what we’ve seen in the 196-second trailer, the series’ entire setting appears to have changed. The fourth season appears to perplex its viewers and produce inexplicable mayhem that will shake Hawkins to its core, from gut-wrenching moments such as Max speaking to Billy’s tombstone, Eleven, Joyce and Will being separated from Hawkins, and there’s sure to be chaos.
On May 27, part one of Stranger Things 4 will be released on Netflix, with part two following on July 1.
