When Netflix series’ collide in real life, apparently, awesome things happen! Last week, Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and 13 Reasons Why star Dylan Minnette joined forces for a great cause while rocking out and performing some awesome tunes!
The two Netflix stars were a part of a Sweet Relief Charity event called Strange 80s which involved some seriously impressive names in the music and entertainment industry including, The Go-Go’s, Slipknot, Anthrax, Taking Back Sunday, OK GO, Anberlin, Filter, Velvet Revolver, Steel Panther, 5 Seconds of Summer and Goldfinger just to name a few. Wolfhard was actually the host of the evening which took place at the Fonda Theater.
The event donated 100% of proceeds to the Sweet Relief Musician Fund charity which, according to their website, provides “financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems.”
There were many activities going on throughout the night including a silent auction and a roof-top after party (both part of the prizes for donating to the charity) but, the stand out of the night were the musicians and actors that took to the stage to cover some of the coolest tunes from the 80’s decades. One of the highlight performances came at the finale of the concert when several acts of the night joined together to perform the Guns N Roses anthem Sweet Child O’Mine.
Wolfhard and Minnette can both be seen on stage together rocking out. Who knew that Wolfhard could head bang like that! Look for Wolfhard bouncing around in the blue shirt and red hat (before he head bangs it off) and Minnette is in a red and black jacket with a white t-shirt towards the center of the group.
They certainly look like they are having a blast! We hope to see these two on the stage together more often!
