‘Stranger Things’ Receives 18 Emmy Nominations Including One for Barb!

The 2017 Emmy Nominations were announced Thursday resulting in some disappointing snubs unexpected accolades.  Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things earned a whopping 18 nominations which include nods for series stars David Harbour (Outstanding Supporting Actor), Millie Bobby Brown (Outstanding Supporting Actress) as well as several other nods for categories relating to production, cinematography, music and many others. The Netflix medium, as a whole, received 91 total nominations!

One stand-out nomination came as a complete and total surprise to pretty much everyone. Shannon Purser, who played our beloved Barb on the series.  She left us too soon but, we may still be able to get #JusticeforBarb if Purser wins her category of Outstanding Guest Actress.

Purser received the news of her nomination on Thursday afternoon and, one the initial shock had passed, she took to Twitter to express her gratitude for the nomination as well as to congratulate her fellow nominees and cast-mates:
