August 1st may have marked the final episode for The Originals on The CW, but The Vampire Diaries universe is far from over. Just on the horizon is Legacies, a second spin-off series that follows the kids of Klaus and Alaric as they come together at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Matt Davis is already on board reprising his role as Alaric and now TVLine has confirmed that Steven R. McQueen will be bringing the Gilbert name back into the ring when he guest-stars on episode three!
McQueen played Jeremy Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries during the entire series run, clocking in at 133 episodes. Throughout the show’s eight seasons, Jeremy ranged from human to vampire hunter, from dead to alive, from brother to cousin, but come the series finale he was last seen helping out at the Salvatore Boarding School. In addition to McQueen, Zach Roerig will also be guest-starring on Legacies after having played Matt Donavon throughout the entirety of The Vampires Diaries.
Legacies will focus on Klaus and Hayley’s daughter Hope Mikaelson, the first supernatural tribrid. As the daughter of a werewolf and a vampire, and the granddaughter of an evil witch, Hope will learn how to control her powers at the Salvatore school while balancing love, life, and the line between hero and villain. You can watch the first teaser trailer below!
The series stars Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaleson, Archie Winston as Jacques Parker, Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman, Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman, with Matt Davis reprising his Vampire Diaries role as Alaric Saltzman. Legacies will be written by Vampire Diaries helmer Julie Plec and Brett Matthews.

Legacies premieres Thursday, Oct. 25 at 9/8c on The CW.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
