Steven DeKnight Clarifies Fans ‘Daredevil’ Superman Comments

For years, fans have been clamoring for a new Superman film with Henry Cavill as the title character. Despite his tests in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the character’s story ended on a devastatingly unresolved note that Warner Bros. does not appear to be interested in continuing.

It didn’t take long for tongues to wag when Steven DeKnight, director/producer of Smallville and Daredevil, was quoted as saying he’d want to bring Cavill back for a Brainiac confrontation. On Twitter, DeKnight has repeatedly stated that he’s a fan of Cavill’s performance as Superman.

Unfortunate, as the screenwriter-director has clarified his statements on Twitter.

Even as DeKuhlt is not involved in any such project, can Cavill ever wear the cape again? Given that Michael Keaton is reprising his role as Batman after a thirty-year absence, you shouldn’t discard anything until we’ve seen what’s next for the DCEU.

Currently, he is filming the Netflix series The Witcher, which will cover the exploits of Geralt of Rivia across up to six seasons. Cavill’s social media posts suggest that he is having a blast playing Geralt and swashbuckling through a fantasy realm during these lengthy shoots.

This is a fantastic review, and I’m glad you found it informative. It’s clear that Warner Bros. is done with the “Snyderverse.” Batgirl, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are still set inside of it, although recent statements imply they wish to move on to a new cinematic universe.

Here’s hoping that one day we’ll get to see more of Cavill as Superman, but be prepared for a long wait.
