Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ Begins Filming

The Dark Tower has
finally kicked off filming!!
Based
on King’s
seven-book series, The Dark Tower movie has been anticipated
for a
long time. The series has a lot
of loyal followers, and have also been
nominated for several awards in the
past. The seventh novel (Dark
Tower VII: The
Dark Tower) actually won the British Fantasy Award in
2005.
Idris Elba and Matthew
McConaughey have taken on the main
roles. Idris Elba will be starring in the
role of the Gunslinger, Roland
Deschain. Matthew McConaughey is
taking on the
villainous role of the ‘Man in Black’. It was also revealed
that Tom Taylor
will be
enlisting in the cast, as Jake Chambers. Jake Chambers, a boy from the
real
world who joins the Gunslinger on
his quest.
“The thing is, it’s
been a long trip from the books to
the film,” King said about The
Dark
Tower when it entered production. “I’m delighted, and I’m a
little bit
surprised.”
The Dark Tower film is said to take place during
the
events of the first book
in the series.
The Dark Tower will be
directed by Nikolaj
Arcel, with a target release date
of February 17,
2017.
