‘Stan Against Evil’ NYCC Trailer Promises More Demons, Witches and Wereponies (Yes, Ponies) for Season 2

“Must be the season of the witch!”

IFC’s hit series Stan Against Evil is back for season 2 and things are just as creepy in Willard’s Mill as ever!

The series stars John C. McGinley (Scrubs, Office Space, The Belko Experiment) as Stan Miller, a police sheriff who, after a strange and emotional outburst during his wife’s funeral, finds himself unemployed and feeling alone for the first time. When strange things start happening within the town, Stan soon discovered that his wife was a witch hunter. She secretly spent her nights protecting him from a curse cast upon the town centuries ago because of a constable who burned 172 witches at the stake. Evie Barret (Janet Varney), who takes over Stan’s position as sheriff, soon also discovers the town is overrun by demons and witches. Together, the unlikely pair is forced to team up to banish evil from their town once and for all.

The first season leaves off on a massive cliffhanger with Evie mysteriously vanishing and time-traveling to another era after reliving the same day over and over again.  She is being accused of witchcraft and is in danger of being burned at the stake. Stan, who is still in the current time and is completely oblivious to Evie’s Groundhog’s Day-like occurrences, suddenly has a feeling that something is wrong in the universe.  That’s exactly where season 2 will pick up.  Can Stan save Evie in time?

Season 2 promises to have more demonic creatures, ghosts, witches and wareponies (yes, ponies)  as well as some killer guest stars including Denise Boutte (Meet the Browns), Jeffrey Combs (Gotham), David Koechner (Anchorman), Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed), and Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead).

Check out the season 2 trailer for Stan Against Evil which was unveiled at New York Comic Con on Thursday.

Season 2 premieres Wednesday, November 1 at 10 PM on IFC with two back-to-back episodes.  Are you excited?
