‘Squid Game’ Sets a date for its Highly Anticipated Netflix Premiere, Bringing the Competition!

“Netflix unveils release date for ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ reality competition series”

Move over MrBeast, Netflix is gearing up to captivate audiences with its highly anticipated reality competition series, ‘Squid Game: The Challenge.’ Following the success of the popular K-Drama series, the official release date was announced during Netflix’s first upfront event. Consisting of 10 episodes, the show will feature 456 contestants engaging in challenges inspired by the games from the original series, all vying for a chance to win a whopping $4.56 million.

Produced by Studio Lambert, the same company behind ‘The Circle,’ ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ was filmed in the UK. Reports surfaced about the contestants’ well-being during production, including cases of frostbite and hyperthermia. Speculation even arose regarding preferential treatment for influencers. While Netflix denied these allegations, a Safety Watchdog review was conducted, resulting in a reminder for proper risk management and concluding that no further action was necessary.

Apart from the reality game show, Netflix has also announced various spin-offs based on the global success of ‘Squid Game,’ including rumors of an American adaptation. Viewers can anticipate the release of ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ in November 2023, while enjoying the original K-Drama series available on the streaming platform.
