Spyro the Dragon & Snoop Dogg Team Up for Cross Country Antics

Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a…. sassy purple dragon? That’s right! Toys For Bob and Activision are pulling out all the stops when it comes to fanning the flames of anticipation for Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy. To celebrate the upcoming release they have not only created a life-sized – TALKING – Spyro the Dragon drone, but are also touring it cross country. The drone just departed from the stunning Castle Gould in New York (the perfect mirror for the iconic Stone Hill level); but that’s just the start. The drone will stop at multiple locations that mirror famous in-game levels such as Spooky Swamp, Icy Peak, and Peace Keepers before delivering a copy of the game to a very special fan: Snoop Dogg!

You did not misread that. The man who puts the ‘OGG’ in ‘DOG’ is a Spyro the Dragon fan. We got our first taste of this a few months ago when Snoop Dog shared a photo of him and an old Spyro the Dragon tshirt. Fast forward a few months later (a few weeks before the release) and the madness really begins.

This all started when the Spyro the Dragon social media accounts shared a teaser video of their new life-sized Spyro drone. Afterwards, Snoop Dogg commented/ replied by complimenting his “lil neffew” and asking for him to bring him a copy of the new game. A day later, the Spyro the Dragon social media accounts responded by sharing a map of their journey before starting their grand adventure.

This has truly been the most random crossover ever; and yet it has me even more excited to know that Snoop is a Spyro fan! How long will the trip take? Who knows. As of last night, October 31st, the Spyro drone was passing NYC – and sharing some shots of the iconic NYC skyline and (even more iconic) NYC pizza. It’s also important to note that the social media accounts also shared an updated look at Metro Speedway – no doubt to mirror the NYC skyline. So the drone is ACTUALLY going cross country bit by bit. Will Snoop get his copy of the Reignited Trilogy before the official November 13th release or will the next 12 days feature a new location and updated look at a corresponding level? Only time will tell; but either way, I’m excited for each stop on this Reignited Tour!

Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy is available for pre-order and if you want to stay up to date with the Spyro Drone’s adventures – as well as more sneaks peaks at the Reignited Trilogy’s epic redesigns – be sure to follow Spyro the Dragon on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
