Peter Parker’s Spidey Suit to Get an Upgrade in ‘Far From Home’

Now that the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel finally has a new name, Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s only fair that Peter Parker get a new suit, right?
Since there’s a lot still up in the air with regards to Peter Parker and the closing events of Infinity War, there’s a possibility that the Iron Spider suit may not even make it out of Avengers 4,
While doing press for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Homecoming’s costume designer Louise Frogley spoke with India West to discuss what the next phase of Peter’s costume will look like.
“I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like man and not teenager.”
One of the biggest victories for Homecoming was Marvel’s decision to cast the spritely and youthful Holland to play Peter Parker, a role that had previously gone to older actors who played the character much darker than his comic counterpart. Holland/Parker looked and acted like a real teenager and people loved the movie for it. So, it’s interesting to hear that they are already looking to mature the character, even if it’s just his costume. Of course, after Infinity War, Peter is being forced to grow up whether he likes it or not.
Far From Home is already going to be a very intriguing chapter in the MCU. It’s the first solo film coming to theaters after Infinity War, where nearly half of the Avengers, and basically the world, were presumably killed by Thanos, and Avengers 4, which hits theaters the month before Spider-Man. Amy Pascal confirmed that Far From Home would begin “a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”
Peter’s suit that was gifted to him by Tony Stark in Homecoming, which featured Jennifer Connelly’s artificial intelligence character named Karen, was extremely cool, as was the Iron Spider suit given to him in Infinity War. So, if Peter were to get a third suit we’d love to see what awesome features Stark could come up with, assuming he makes it out of Avengers 4 (eek!).
Do you think that Peter’s suit needs a third rendition? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
