Steve Carell Co-Creates and Stars in Netflix’s Upcoming Comedy Series ‘Space Force’

In what can only be described as a show that will write itself, on Wednesday, Netflix announced a brand new comedy series in the works called Space Force.

While details relating to the series are scarce, we know that the new show is set to take on the real-life, newly proposed branch of the armed forces from Donald Trump. Steve Carell will star in the series which he also co-created and will executive produce. Carell co-created the series along with Greg Daniels (The Office (U.S.), King of the Hill, Parks and Recreation) who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer. The two originally worked on the NBC smash hit comedy The Office together and reunite for the Netflix project. Howard Klein/3Arts (The Office (U.S.), The Mindy Project, Parks and Recreation) will also serve as executive producer

Netflix released a teaser as well as the official logline for the series which reads, “Workplace comedy centered around the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services… Space Force.”

The teaser was shared to Netflix’s social media pages with the caption,”@SteveCarell will star in a new workplace comedy series he co-created with #TheOffice’s Greg Daniels about the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services: the Space Force!”

The teaser doesn’t show much, but it’s definitely enough to pique interest. Netflix shared the teaser to its social media pages with a caption saying, “.@SteveCarell will star in a new workplace comedy series he co-created with #TheOffice’s Greg Daniels about the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services: the Space Force!” Check out the teaser below.
