SNL 2/11/17 – The Best Sketches Of The Night

SNL has had a slew of returning hosts over the years – Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, John Goodman, among others – but none has hosted as much as actor Alec Baldwin.  Earlier tonight Baldwin hosted his record-breaking 17th episode of the Saturday night stalwart. Going into tonight’s episode, everyone assumed the latest live installment would lean very heavy on this week’s shenanigans coming out of Washington. Between Sean Spicer, Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump, the Senate blocking Elizabeth Warren from quoting Coretta Scott King, the numerous factual inaccuracies being reported out of our nation’s capital…well, the writers certainly had enough material to probably pen a three-hour live show. After a mildly amusing episode hosted by Kristen Stewart last week (and at no fault of this cast – Stewart’s not the most adept at acting), fans were ready for Baldwin to take the reigns. And take charge he did. As expected the evening was rife of politcal potshots at the bigger hot-button issues of the week in the sharpest written episode of the season. Wherever the Donald is, I’m waiting to see the 140-character jagged response.

Didn’t catch last night’s installment? Turn that frown upside down, get comfortable, and turn up the volume. See the best of last night’s episode below! (To note, if you missed the cold open there’s already a whole post dedicated to Melissa McCarthy’s return as Sean Spicer. Go on, take a look. It won’t hurt you!)
