On Wednesday, October 19th at 2 p.m. PT, Konami will finally give fans an update on the Silent Hill franchise that they have long been waiting for. Although the publisher has not said what exactly will be revealed during the event, they promise that it will contain “the latest updates for the SILENT HILL series,” according to their official Twitter account. With rumors about the future of this much-anticipated franchise swirling for years now, viewers can finally expect some concrete answers regarding its fate!

The Tweet announcing the transmission is shown below.

Since the Silent Hill series began in 1999 on PlayStation, there hasn’t been a new entry to the franchise. That changed in 2014 when Konami announced that they were teaming up with Kojima Productions, Guillermo del Toro, and Norman Reedus for Silent Hills. The game became highly-anticipated after its playable teaser (or P.T.) was released and garnered worldwide interest; however, following a reported fallout between Kojima and Konami, the game was ultimately canceled leaving P.T – which is no longer available for download – as the world’s only insight into what could have been an amazing horror video game experience

With everything that’s happened in the last decade, fans of the Silent Hill series are expecting big things from the next game.
It’s unclear if Silent Hill will ever be as big as it once was for Konami.
Given Silent Hill’s popularity, a lot of people will probably watch the reveal on Wednesday.
There is no way to know for sure whether or not multiple new entries in the series will be announced, but it is possible.
It looks like fans of Silent Hill will have to wait a little longer to see what Konami has in store!

If there were to be a new Silent Hill game, what would you want from it? Let us know in the comments!
