Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is quickly heading toward release. To celebrate, Activision and FromSoftware have released a new trailer previewing the game’s story, giving players one of their first looks at the conflicts surrounding the gameplay.
For those unfamiliar with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, it is a game from Dark Souls creator FromSoftware and is set in 1500’s Japan. A brief synopsis was included in a recent press release from Activision, which provided a hint at the storyline:
“Explore late 1500s Sengoku Japan, a brutal period of constant life and death conflict, as you come face-to-face with larger than life foes in a dark and twisted world. Unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while you blend stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head-to-head combat in a bloody confrontation. Take Revenge. Restore Your Honor. Kill Ingeniously.”
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been watched closely since its unveiling last year and has been regularly seen at the top of games-to-watch lists, including being hailed as “Best of Gamescom” and “Best Action Game” at Gamescom 2018.
While many videos of gameplay have been shown, this trailer is our first real glimpse of the outlying story line.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be released on March 22nd, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Pre-orders are now live from most outlets, or you can check out Sekiro’s official pre-order page.
