See the First Full Trailer for ‘I, Tonya’

The Tonya Harding story is one that most wouldn’t exactly lump into the humor category. However, that’s exactly the spin put on the film I, Tonya, the biopic about Harding’s life and it looks incredible from the first trailer.

Harding, portrayed by Margot Robbie is intense as she explains that America wants someone to love, but American also wants someone to hate. Tonya became that girl after the insanity that ensued between herself, her ex husband, and Nancy Kerrigan.

While the level of humor we mentioned earlier is certainly a focal point of the entire film, you get a clear glimpse into her life from childhood up until after the incident with Kerrigan. She was abused as a child, both mentally and physically by her mother and you can see she is a woman starved for love.

The film sets itself up as an interview of sorts, and we have a feeling that we will see two sides of Harding play out as the movie progresses. In addition go Robbie’s portrayal of Harding, Sebastian Stan is playing the role of Jeff Gillooly. His scenes in the trailer are as impactful as Robbie’s and with good reason. Gillooly was said to be the mastermind behind the attack on Kerrigan so his role is insanely important.

Reviews from the TIFF called this movie an early Oscar runner and said the performances stuck with them long after the film ended. After seeing this full length trailer, we have to say it’s one we will be at the earliest screening to see.
