While superhero films are always in high demand, it seems that we’re living in the year of Wonder Woman. A new film on the horizon is examining the larger than life hero in a very different way. Professor Marston and the Wonder Women hits theaters on October 13th, and if the story doesn’t immediately draw you in, the trailers certainly will.
The last trailer for the film debuted just hours ago at NYCC and it’s the best one so far. After watching interview footage from TIFF and seeing the dedication, passion, and love that went into the making of this film, we’re more on board for it than ever.
Professor William Marston has been called “a walking contradiction”, a man who claimed feminist ideals but also opposed them. You have to wonder if some of the criticism was based more on his personal life and less on what was in the comics.
That is an underlying question in the upcoming film, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. For those unaware, being introduced to Marston and his wife, and their lover Olivia will be quite a journey.
Marston combined his own ideals with the women in his life, to create the feminist superhero. The newest trailer shows a peek into the relationship between the three of them, Marston pitching his idea for Wonder Woman, and him being questioned about truly having a secret identity himself.
