If you’re anything like us, Rampage was one of your go-to games when you turned on your Playstation more years ago than we’d like to count. There was nothing better than taking your monster to stomp through cities and see if you’d be the winner, yes, we’re a bit competitive.
If you’ve never played the game before, the short summary is, there are 3 monsters who were formerly human who go to attack a city. You gain points by destroying buildings and cars, eating everything from fruit to humans, and trying to take down the other monsters.
Needless to say, when we heard that one of our favorite games was being turned into a film, we were intrigued. Then, we heard who was set to be cast in the film and we grew incredibly excited.
Now, we’ve seen the first trailer for the film and we’re more excited than ever. Not only is the cast absolutely amazing – starring names like Dwayne Johnson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan – it’s got it’s own life and story outside of the video game too.
Dwayne Johnson plays the role of Primatologist Davis Okoye who has a strong bond with George, the gorilla that’s been in his care since birth. However, when a genetic experiment goes absolutely crazy, George and other animals were turned into ‘monstrous’ versions of themselves.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan steps in as Government Agent Russell of the OGA and we have a feeling there will be many ups and downs for both Russell and Okoye as the film progresses. Seriously, just watch that trailer again. It’s total destruction.
After seeing the first trailer for the film, do you plan on catching the movie next year? What character on Rampage was your favorite? Let us know.
