See Amy Adams in HBO’s New ‘Sharp Objects’ Trailer

The trailer for HBO’s new limited series Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams has finally arrived and judging from the first look, it’s going to be a perfect outlet for fans of Gone Girl and Big Little Lies. Adapted from Gillian Flynn’s (Gone Girl) novel of the same name, Sharp Objects follows a journalist named Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) who is sent to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri to investigate the murders of two young girls. Prior to the assignment, Camille had been hospitalized for self-harm after cutting words onto her skin due to hallucinations, so the after-effects of that will certainly be following her home as well. On top of the murder investigation and her own mental health issues, Camille also has family problems to deal with as she hasn’t seen her mother or half-sister in years.
The series will definitely have some Big Little Lies vibes as Jean-Marc Vallée, who directed the brilliant first season of B.L.L. also directed and executive produced Sharp Objects as well. Sharp Objects will premiere on HBO this July.
