Sebastian Stan on ‘Infinity War’s’ Bucky Barnes

When Sebastian Stan took on the role of Bucky Barnes, it’s hard to know if he realized just what he was getting into. The character is a fan favorite and he’s got quite a following. Especially in terms of those who think Bucky is much more friend than foe.

With Avengers: Infinity War set to premiere in just weeks, Sebastian Stan sat down for an interview with ET.

He covered everything from how insane it was to be on a set like the Infinity War set to the all-star cast and of course, what we can expect from Bucky Barnes. He also admitted that he didn’t really know what he was talking about because he didn’t read the script. We can’t say that we’re surprised. He’s one of those Marvel secret tellers.

While some still wonder if he’s hero or villain, he had this to say about the complicated character that is Bucky. Oh, and he pulled out a fake knife at just the right time.

‘I think that’s always up to question, in a good way, to be honest, because the thing is that I haven’t really thought about it other than the fact that every time you see him, he’s in a very different place, and he’s not really a very dangerous guy, for the most part. I feel like he’s still got the hair and the look and as long as he has this situation going, then I think he can look a little skeptical.’

Sure, after a few trigger words he can turn into a killing machine, but it takes a lot to get there and he can be talked out of it. As far as Bucky’s future, Stan isn’t worried about what’s next. He knows his character is in good hands.

‘I don’t worry about the character. No matter what they decide, they’re going to do the right thing … I have ownership over the character, but it’s not up to me to decide what happens. But you know, those guys are going to take it to another level. That’s just what they are going to do. And it’s a culmination of so many things up until this point, which is why they can.’

You can see Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Infinity War on April 27th.
