Good Morning America’s second hour kicked off with some big heroes this morning as Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, and Karen Gillan brought a Marvelous announcement with them.
Fans of the MCU know that the countdown to Avengers: Infinity War is on and promo season is upon us. However, instead of just promoting the film, the heroes we love on screen are embracing the role of hero in their day to day lives too.
Not that we’re surprised by the initiative. If you follow our favorite MCU heroes on social media, you frequently see them – and even their fans – getting involved in different charity drives and initiatives to give back to anyone in need. Especially the children who look up to them so much.
The latest charity drive, Marvel Universe United, aims to help chronically and terminally sick children and getting involved is easy. Using the hashtag #HeroActs, fans can help raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Their impact statement is as follows.
‘For 35 years, Starlight has brought smiles to more than 60 million critically, chronically and terminally ill children in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.’
To help make a difference, you can go to Good Morning America‘s Instagram profile, via the link above, and like the photo. Once it reaches 1 million likes, Marvel and Disney will donate $250,000 to the foundation. Not only that, but the photo above shows a box full of Marvel toys, all of which will be donated to children in need.
In addition, Disney is donating 10% of this weekend’s Marvel sales to the organization.
There’s nothing like getting involved with your favorite hero in an effort to make a difference. You can post your own photos while doing some #HeroActs in your day to day life as well!
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th.
