Ahead of SDCC Marvel’s The Defenders, coming to Netflix on August 18th, was one of the shows that pop culture fans hoped to find out more about. While it’s not exactly new information, ahead of the panel at the convention we did get a really cool ‘teaser’ for the Defenders featuring a Stan Lee cameo.
Or rather, a Stan Lee narration.
We also got a glimpse of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher at the very end, and while we’re waiting (not so) patiently for an entire trailer, the first look is gritty.
On Friday, The Defenders had a panel at SDCC and the cast was introduced before the floor opened for questions. Marco Ramirez was asked about writing ‘The Defenders’.
‘The big challenge was honoring all of the characters so that The Defenders was its own story – so that it was self-contained.’
For those who don’t know yet, the premise for ‘The Defenders’ is as follows.
‘Set a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil and a month after the events of the first season of Iron Fist, the vigilantes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team up in New York City to fight a common enemy: The Hand.‘
During the panel, a brand new trailer for The Defenders was also shown and it’s now made its way online. You can see it here.
With an all star cast and an incredible plot, the trailer is definitely one that grabs your attention and sells the series. Are you as excited as we are to see The Defenders?
‘…but I knew him’
