With Marvel sitting out, 2018’s San Diego Comic-Con is Warner Bros. time to shine and show off some of the highly anticipated projects they have in the pipeline. Social media is buzzing with anything and everything Aquaman and fans are eagerly waiting for any news about Shazam! but it’s the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 that has people on the edge of their seats!
When photos surfaced of Chris Pine as ’80’s Steve Trevor, questions about his fate exploded on the internet and with Kristen Wiig’s first-look at Cheetah coming shortly after, fans were hoping to get some more exclusive content out of the Warner Bros. Saturday afternoon panel and they were in luck! The panel previewed two short clips, one of which showed Gal Gadot as Diana Prince doing her thing at a mall in what was apparently a superb ’80s vibe.
First #WonderWoman1984 footage is VERY ’80s, with WW facing off with two guys in a bright, colorful mall. A second short clip showed her running through the streets, speeding by a bunch of colorful cars and costumes.

Director Patty Jenkins talked about her vision for the highly-anticipated sequel.
“i never want to do anything for the wrong reason. I want to make great movies in my lifetime. And we can make a whole new movie, that’s as strong and unique as the first. It’s not more of anything, it’s its own thing.” – @PattyJenks on #WonderWoman1984 pic.twitter.com/LbNgAzB9kM

Chris Pine also spoke about how easy it was him for play Steve Trevor, mainly thanks to Gal Gadot.

2017’s Wonder Woman found Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) plane crashing on Diana Prince’s (Gal Gadot) island nation of Themyscira where he explained to her the conflicts of the outside world, leading the Amazonian warrior to leave her home to stop the threat and help to fight the war to end all wars. Of course, along the way she discovered her true powers and destiny. The film was praised by critics and audiences, grossing over $800 million worldwide at the box-office and quickly received a sequel order. Gadot also appeared in Justice League later that year with Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller.
Wonder Woman 1984 is once again being directed by Patty Jenkins who led the 2017 film to become one of the best-reviewed DCEU films and became the best opening weekend from a female filmmaker and the highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman.
Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on November 1, 2019!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
