SDCC 2018: The ‘Sharknado’ Legacy Will Live on with a Live Stage Show

This year marks the end of an era. In August, the very last of the Sharknado films will air on Syfy closing out a beloved franchise that has been around since 2013, however, there’s hope on the horizon for hardcore fans.

The Sharknado legacy will soon live on in the form of a live stage show! During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the announcement was made at the Sharknado panel that a live stage show based on the franchise would be heading to Las Vegas! No other details were revealed during other than the expected premiere date of the show is next year and an official announcement should be expected later on this year.

That’s some pretty exciting news for Sharknado fans!

The sixth and final film in the franchise will air in August this year following Syfy’s fifth annual weeklong Sharknado event.  The Sharknado Week line up kicks off first with Deep Blue Seas 2 and will include other sharky movies such as Nightmare Shark and 6-Headed Shark Attack.

Sharkando 6 is titled The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time and will pick up right where the fifth film, Global Swarming, left off. According to a press release from Syfy, the sixth film is described as follows: “Our hero Fin (Ian Ziering) has battled sharks all over the globe, but in this last installment he will tackle the final shark-tier — time travel. In the ending moments of SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, Fin was seen wandering alone on Earth after it was destroyed. Now he must travel back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all. Will Fin and the gang be able to set everything right and save the world once and for all? A production of The Asylum, SHARKNADO 6 is directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, based on an original screenplay by Scotty Mullen.”
