Something wicked this way comes at the Riverdale San Diego Comic-Con panel! Attendees were treated to an exclusive look at the upcoming third season, which just recently began shooting in Vancouver. The video features a recap of the wildly insane season 2 before moving into a brief look at the upcoming season. The teaser also confirms that there will be a three month time jump from the events of the finale, which found Hiram Lodge having Archie arrested for a murder he didn’t commit. Check it out below!
The exclusive look at season 3 finds Archie, Betty, Jughead, and Veronica all heading out of town for a Labor Day getaway and while everything appears to be fine with them all Archie does say that it’s been “the worst summer ever” so we will most likely be learning about what happened after the season 2 finale through flashbacks.
There’s also a haunting moment at the end of the trailer where Betty finds Alice and Polly in their backyard, holding Polly’s twins above a bonfire in what appears to be some cult-like ceremony. Season 2 had found Polly living at a place called The Farm in order to raise her children far away from the dark town of Riverdale. Once it was revealed that Hal Cooper was the Black hood, Polly suggested that Alice come live with her for a little while, but it seems they’re taking things back home.
Based on the popular Archie Comics, Riverdale puts a darker spin on the lives of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) as they take on the evil that lurks in their small town. In addition, the series also stars Casey Cott, Luke Perry, Marisol Nichols, Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick, Skeet Ulrich, Ashleigh Murray, Vaness Morgan, and Mark Consuelos.
Season 3 of Riverdale premieres on Wednesday, October 10th!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
