Scarlett Johansson feared she might never see her “Avengers” co-star Jeremy Renner again after he suffered severe injuries from a near-fatal snowplow accident, including blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
During an interview with Variety, Johansson, 38, shared her initial shock upon learning about Renner’s accident, where he was crushed by a nearly 15,000-pound snow machine while trying to save his nephew’s car. At the time of the incident in January, Johansson was filming “Project Artemis” in Atlanta.
Recalling the conversations on the “Avengers” text chain, Johansson revealed that the group, including the original six Avengers members, were in awe of Renner’s superhero-like courage and resilience.

According to an incident report from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on January 1 when Renner was attempting to tow his nephew’s truck out of the snow. He suffered injuries to his torso, extremities, face, and head.
