Samuel L. Jackson to Appear in ‘Captain Marvel’
After being MIA since 2015’s Age of Ultron, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is finally returning to the big screen!
Deadline reports that Jackson will indeed be making an appearance in Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson, however, how large a role he will play is yet to be determined. Originally, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts wanted Jackson to mentor Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the film, even featuring him in early “mood reels” before being chosen to direct. “I don’t know what the situation would be,” he told io9, “but that would be a person [Peter] would want to get in trouble with.” Following the establishing of Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) and Peter’s relationship in Civil War though, things obviously changed.
Captain Marvel – the first solo female film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – is set for release on March 8th, 2019, with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck serving as directors.
