Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams to Star in New FX Limited Series

Well, doesn’t this sound like some good ol’ dancing fun! It has just been announced that Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams will star in a new FX limited series from Hamilton’s Lin Manuel Miranda based on the story of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

The network has already given the series an eight-episode order, which the Tony-Award winning Miranda will executive produce. While still untitled, the series will “chronicle the romantic and creative partnership between legendary choreographer Fosse (Rockwell) and Broadway dancer Verdon (Williams). Featuring Fosse’s choreography, the series explores the hidden corners of show business, the price of pursuing greatness, and the suffering inflicted in the name of art.”

The series will be also be penned by a Tony winner as well with Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex) helming the script and acting as showrunner. Rockwell and Williams are huge scores for the network, which has found an abundant amount of Emmy award wins and big names on their rosters thanks to Ryan Murphy’s various anthology series including  Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, and Kathy Bates.

Rockwell recently won the Academy Award last year for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and has a slew of projects in the works.  Williams is no stranger to the small screen having appeared on The WB’s long-running series Dawsons Creek. She has also been a four-time Academy Award nominee for her roles in films such as Brokeback Mountain and Manchester by the Sea and most recently showed off her dancing skills in The Greatest Showman.

The series is expected to premiere sometime in 2019 and is scheduled to begin production later this Fall.
