A trailer just dropped for The Hitman’s Bodyguard and it’s the movie of the summer we didn’t know we needed. It also stars a duo we can’t wait to see in action. Ryan’s Reynolds and Samuel Jackson look to be a dynamic pair in the film, even if they’re seemingly polar opposites.
Reynolds is assigned protection duty to Jackson and the song in the background is belted by none other than Whitney Houston. That’s right, you’ve already hit the nail on the head. ‘I Will Always Love You’ plays as Reynolds seriously reconsiders his life due to his latest assignment. Being a hitman’s bodyguard is already a dangerous job, but when your hitman is as bad ass as Jackson, well, you’ll probably need some protection yourself.
You may also need thick skin. Jackson is on a roll and at one point in the trailer, Reynolds even says Jackson has ruined the term ‘mother fuck–‘ for him. We don’t quite think that’s possible, in fact, he almost makes the term endearing.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard is packed full of action, fire, and foul language. So like, it’s a pop-culture junkie’s dream. The film hits theaters in August, and we can’t wait to see it.
