Ryan Murphy’s newest project is heading to FOX.
His new series 911 is close to getting a 13-episode straight-to-series order at the network, with Angela Bassett as its star. Full details have not been released, only that the show will revolve around 911 operators, in the vein of the ER. In addition to starring, Bassett is also executive producing. The actress is no stranger to working with Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk, playing lead roles in four installments of American Horror Story: Coven, Freakshow, Hotel, and Roanoke.
In addition to Horror Story, Murphy has also created Glee, Scream Queens (both FOX series that were co-created with Falchuk and Ian Brennan), The People v. O.J. Simpson, FEUD, and the upcoming 1980s New York drama series Pose.
911 is currently targeting a midseason launch.
