Russo Brothers Reveal Thanos and Thor Will Have Most Screen Time in ‘Infinity War’
Yesterday morning, the official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was released, and we still haven’t recovered knowing that some of our favorite heroes will meet their end at the hands of Thanos. The film will see every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe take on the Mad Titan in his quest to gain the Infinity Stones, however, only two characters will be featured more than the others.
The Russo Brothers recently revealed to Fandango that Thanos obviously is one of them, “even though he’s not a character that had a huge preexisting story in the Marvel Universe.” Making cameos in The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and a post credit scene in Age of Ultron, many fans complained that Thanos was a “weak” villain, which Joe Russo also addressed. “[Thanos] was a threat but he was not developed in any way up to this point. Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time in this film, in a lot of ways I would say it’s his movie.”
The other character who will have huge amounts of screen time is Thor, which is a huge surprise considering the teaser and official trailers for Infinity War focused mainly on Captain America. “So I think Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time, and I think you’ll find that Thor has a really interesting arc in the film. He hasn’t been at the forefront of other Avengers movies but he certainly has a very important role in this film. So I’ll say Thanos and Thor.”
