Rosario Dawson Offers Insight Into When ‘Star Wars’ Aficionados Can Expect Ahsoka To Grace Our Screens

Rosario Dawson, the actress behind Ahsoka, recently announced that we might be seeing her on our screens in a matter of months. We can hardly contain our excitement!

On the TODAY show with Hoda and Jenna, Ahsoka made an appearance to promote her upcoming documentary Split at the Root which will be released on Netflix and in theaters on March 3. Of course, she couldn’t escape a few questions about her role of Anakin Skywalker’s padawan, Ahsoka Tano – from Star Wars!

Rosario Dawson is no stranger to the character of Ahsoka, as she has had experience with her in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Now, a series all about this beloved character will be released on Disney Plus – and thanks to TODAY we now have more definitive news. It seems that Ahsoka’s solo series will debut sometime in 2023!

Star Wars: Ahsoka Star Rosario Dawson Wasn't a Fan of Her Sin City Costumes

Responding to questions about the spin-off, Dawson stated that Ahsoka was likely going to hit theaters in the autumn. However, she then brought up Haunted Mansion and how its release date had been changing; while it is now confirmed for July 28th of 2023, her statement implies a late year launch window for Ahsoka. Despite these small discrepancies, we can assume with relative certainty that Disney intends on releasing this exciting new project towards the end of 2023.

With the third season of The Mandalorian premiering on Disney Plus just over a week from now, it looks like the last six months of 2023 are free for both Ahsoka and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew to take off. Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is already midway through its second season, while Star Wars: Visions will likely debut its highly-anticipated sophomore run in May 4th 2023.

We are still awaiting the Ahsoka trailer, which would be a reasonable expectation if it is set to debut in autumn. If Star Wars Celebration takes place as planned in April, we may well see the first trailer then with an accompanying release date announcement – but Disney could also hold off and make it available on May 4th instead! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney may possibly be holding back on its Disney Plus releases; however this could be more of a Marvel problem than Star Wars. In any case, additional information about Ahsoka and the destiny of the famous franchise should come out at April’s renowned Star Wars Celebration.

Fans of The Mandalorian can look forward to the return of their favorite show when season three hits Disney Plus on March 1, 2023!
