The mystery concerning Matt Reeves’ The Batman film has had fans scratching their heads for months, particularly after Ben Affleck left the role. But it seems Warner Bros have made a massive steps in regards to who will don the cowl.
According to Variety, Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play Batman in the spin-off film which is set to be released in June 2021. However, other sources say that there is another contender. Nicholas Hoult who is known for playing the Beast in the most recent X-Men movies.
By the time you read this, there may have been an actual decision made. For now, it seems that Pattinson is the most likely of the two candidates since his name has a more prominent presence online at the moment. Perhaps a dark horse appears and takes the role from both Pattinson and Hoult, who knows at this point.
No official start date has been set for The Batman but Variety says that tell pre-production and filming could start late this year or in early 2020. If that is the case, expect an announcement within the next few days. The new Batman will be confirmed fairly soon.
Whoever ends up with the role, Reeves will be aiming to push his Caped Crusader film out for a June 25th 2021 release. We will be sure to update everyone once the casting has been confirmed.
