Robert Kirkman: Rick Grimes will eventually die

If there is one thing we know for sure, it is that most television shows nowadays are not shy when it comes to killing off main characters. Just look at shows such as Game of Thrones, Arrow, House of Cards and The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead, which is now moving onto its seventh season, has done a pretty good job at holding onto a few of its major characters since Season One. One of those characters, is Rick Grimes himself. Rick has been through hell, and there have been several times when Rick realistically could have or should have died.
In a Reddit AMA promoting his new TV series Outcast, Robert Kirkman, creator of both The Walking Dead show and comic book series it is based on, said Rick will die—“eventually.”
One fan asked the question: “Do rick die?”, Kirkman responded saying: “He do eventually.”
Kirkman’s answer has prompted fans to speculate whether he has given away a massive spoiler for season seven, and that would be that Rick was the one who met Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat. Personally I take that as Kirman means Rick will eventually die in an existential manner; or at least, not this soon in the series.
Kirkman also addressed the Season Six finale cliffhanger:
“I just want to point out that a lot of what you seem to hate about the finale are your assumptions of how season 7 will start. I assure you it will [have an impact]. You’re welcome to be unhappy with the episode that aired. Was it a misstep? Maybe. Only time will tell. Scott Gimple is a great guy who EVERY FAN would love if they could get to know him. He LOSES SLEEP trying to make the fan base happy. It may not seem that way, but it is. He loves the comic as much as the die hard fans of the comics do, he was a die hard fan of the comic before the show existed.”
How or when do you think Rick will eventually die?

@ Mia Holiday There was never a Character Named Doc on The Walking Dead there is however a Doc on Z Nation I think You may be thinking of Maggies Father Who was a Veterinarian 🙂 @ Angie Gibson actually Negan’s last words were Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mo but He did say before that IF “Anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the boy’s other eye out and feed it to his father.” So He was focused on Carl not saying it was Him it could have been Anybody… So Whomever met Lucille I will be very sad BUT I Love the show and I dont care Who They Kill off Ill still always Be a Fan just like I Am of Grey’s Anatomy will never stop watching cause They took Christina Derek and Mark off the Show… A true Fan wouldnt just stop watching cause They kill Somebody You like off the Show…
Kirkman is a guy who will lie rather than give you a spoiler, so what difference does it make? In the comics, which Kirkman writes, he stated over and over “Negan will never get out of prison” (sorry if I spoiled that for you), yet he did, and admitted that he lied about it. If Rick dies… so what, not a whole lot of us are gonna lose sleep over it.
If Rick dies it’d be tragic but it Daryl dies then never again will I watch the show… he’s my favourite character and I have formed such a connection to his character that if he died it’d not only ruin it for me but would also ruin the show as he’d be a huge piece of the show that’s missing as I am sure many feel about Ricks character
I love the show no matter what. Yes, I hate to see my favorite characters be killed off. But, they have to keep it shocking, scary & interesting. I don’t believe Rick will be killed off anytime soon. Nor Carl or Daryl anytime soon. But the story would become predictable if everything stayed the same.
When Rick die I want watch no more the end
