Robert Kirkman Revealed Rick Grimes’ Death Two Years Ago on Reddit

Although fans of The Walking Dead are still up in arms about the news of Rick Grime’s now confirmed death, they are wracking their brains to figure out if this is something we’ve actually known all along. Some are recalling a time over two years ago when Robert Kirkman may have prematurely hinted at his demise. Kirkman took part in a Reddit AMA before the show’s 7th season.
Reddit user maxforce54 asked the creator, “Does Rick die?”

The response was blunt.

“He does eventually,”

Although he did reveal that Rick will eventually die, the argument can be made that in the end, eventually, everyone dies. Alas, later on Kirkman answered a similar question saying, “They all die eventually.”

As fans of the show and now having lost several beloved characters, we all know too well that nobody is safe on The Walking Dead.
This goes for the series as well as the comics. Several storylines have remaining series characters that have already passed in the comics, and vice versa.

Norman Reedus and Chandler Riggs have both commented on Lincoln’s exit. Reedus shared a photo of the two in the early filming stages, with a simple heart.

Riggs recently shared his thoughts on the departure, saying it will be good for Andy to get home to his family, and not have to constantly travel to film.

Andrew Lincoln’s exit was confirmed earlier this month, after the news broke that he wouldn’t be renewing his contract for season 9. He will only appear in the first 6 episodes of season 9.

The Walking Dead season 9 will premiere in October 2018.
