The Gargoyles have replaced jingle jangle with fizzle rocks and everyone has lost their minds. The Vixens suffer from a mass seizure and have disappeared. Veronica was one of them. This sparks a panic at Riverdale High to the point where the parents feel it might be best of shut it down. Of course, Hiram is able to save his ass. Veronica suspects that he’s behind the fizzle rock distribution.
Meanwhile, on the road, Jughead and Archie head to Toledo to visit Gladys and Jellybean, Jughead’s mom and sister. Penny Peabody followed them and tries to capture Archie to collect a bounty. Jellybean, I’m sorry, JB takes her out to save Archie. Gladys goes all mamma bear on Penny for what she did to Jughead.
Penny revealed that Hiram is after Riverdale and ran Archie out of town to keep them from stopping him. The bounty is not just on Archie, it’s on anyone helping him too. FP takes Jughead back to Riverdale while Fred takes Archie to the border. Fred wants to go with Archie but Archie decides to keep going alone so he can protect everyone he loves. They tell each other that this isn’t goodbye.
At the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, Betty locks Ethel in the Gargoyle King’s lair until the fizzle rocks wear off to show her that it’s all an illusion. Ethel now believes Betty and they plan to escape. Ethel distracts a nun while Betty captures Sister Woodhouse. Sister Woodhouse says that G&G started there and when the other girls don’t want to escape, they turn to the Griffin Queen. They create a quest to get the other girls to escape that madhouse.
Hiram admits that Veronica is right and successfully has Riverdale quarantined. No one is allowed in or out. Is working for the Gargoyle King or is he the King?
Jellybean taking out Penny was literally the best thing to ever happen! I screamed with happiness. Also, damn, Betty has balls! I would never be able to capture someone with that much finesse. Actually, this whole episode was amazing and full of badass women! Gladys and JB taking care of Penny, Betty, and Ethel breaking out of the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, and Veronica and Cheryl taking care of things in Riverdale. This was a fantastic midseason finale and I can’t wait for January. Who run the world, GIRLS!
