Luke Perry, who is currently starring as Fred Andrews on The CW’s Riverdale, is currently hospitalized after suffering a stroke yesterday. While no updates have been given as to the actor’s status, Deadline was able to report that he was “currently under observation”. After the saddening news broke, Perry’s Riverdale family came out on social media to show their love and support.

The day before his hospitalization, Fox had announced that they’d ordered a six-episode revival of Beverly Hills 90210, which would feature the return of most of the original cast. Perry had starred on the iconic teen drama for its entire 10-season run from 1990-2000. The miniseries will feature a somewhat meta premise as it will follow the original stars reuniting 19 years later to begin working on a TV revival of the series. While Perry has not officially signed on to return, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling will all be reprising their roles. Some of them also sent their thoughts to Perry on social media with some touching throwback photos.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Perry and his family. We will keep you updated as we learn more information.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
