THIS Revelation From The ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Trailer Changes The Entire MCU

So, this is the perfect time for me to say SPOILER ALERT, just like the Far From Home trailer starts with.

I am sure many have been talking about what the trailer has to say and what it reveals. I have a few opinions on it, and we will get right into discussing them.

If you watched the Spider-Man: Far From Home full trailer, you know that there is a moment where Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) takes Spider-Man (Tom Holland) to what seems to be a SHIELD headquarters abroad. There they met Quentin Beck, a.k.a Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and we find out something very interesting about him. Beck says to Spider-Man, “We could have used someone like you on our world”, prompting Spidey to reply, “Your world?”. Fury explains further, “Beck is from Earth, just not ours, the snap tore a hole in our dimension” to which Spidey responds, “You’re saying there’s a multiverse?”.

The idea of a multiverse has been thought of by many a Marvel fan, but nothing suggested it was possible, even with Endgame. If anything, Endgame told us there was one single timeline, although branching ones could in fact happen because of the Infinity Stones being plucked from the place they were supposed to be. Because of the stones seeming governance of time and reality (there are two stones even named after that) and Captain America replacing the missing ones needed to fix the timeline of Endgame, everything should be back to normal no?

Well, I have a theory. Many look to Fury’s words speaking to the snap tearing a hole in reality. Some have wondered if it was the initial snap by Thanos, the Hulk’s snap to repair reality, or Iron Man’s snap. My theory revolves around the snap I do not think anyone is going with, the snap by Thanos to destroy the stones. There are ideas that even though the stones were “demolished to atoms” they still can hold together the timeline. I do not think so whatsoever.

Thanos did not realize it but he ripped the fabric of reality by destroying what governed it. Anything can come from this now. Mysterio is simply the beginning. I believe that has been happening over the five year time period that passes during Endgame, other realities bleeding into the MCU. The possibilities are honestly endless, even if unintended given the Russo’s did not even know about the multiverse until the Far From Home trailer hit.

We all should know this could in fact be something to throw us off. Mysterio is a villain (at least we think) and he is quite the liar as well. He even convinced Wolverine to kill all of the X-Men in the Old Man Logan timeline with his illusions. While I trust Nick Fury when he says there are different timelines, Spidey may not even be talking to Fury. It may be another one of Mysterio’s illusions.

If this does turn out to be real, there could be a very interesting road ahead. While I could see the X-Men coming into play from another reality, I think a better use of it would be for the Fantastic Four, mainly because that could lead us into a conflict with what many think could be the next big baddie, Kang the Conqueror (who happens to be a future relative of Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic). It could also lead us further down the cosmic trail as a way to introduce several other villains.

This revelation in the MCU is none the less a huge development, even if it turns out to be a farce. I do not feel like it is though, because such a large plot point would be ridiculous to reveal for such a small payoff.
