‘Resident Evil Zero, 1, And 4’ Are Headed To Nintendo Switch

The Resident Evil series has gone through somewhat of a renaissance over the last few years. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was a fantastic new imagining of the horror franchise, and you could even play it in its entirety in VR. Resident Evil 2 Remake was a critical hit and standard for all remakes this year. So what else do we have coming from Capcom?

According to an announcement on Twitter, it may not be a new game, but there will be a new way to play-

The tweet reads-

Resident Evil 0, 1, and 4 are coming to Nintendo Switch eShop on May 21!

Play all three masterpieces anywhere, such as:

– On trains 🚆

– During mansion tours 🏰

– Across the European countryside 🌄

Pre-orders start on Feb 28!

Maybe not anything new, but definitely exciting! Developers have learned even though new titles are great, their older games have new life on the Switch. Where there is money to be made, publishers will go. Another plus, all three Resident Evil games will be the HD remastered versions.

Capcom also confirmed that they will be selling the Origins Collection (Zero and 1) as a retail copy. My guess is that it will be similar to the Resident Evil Revelations where the first game was on the cartridge and the second was a digital code. Unfortunately it looks like if you live in Europe you are out of luck, they will not be releasing a physical collection there.

I am a bit sad there are not any plans to release a physical version of Resident Evil 4. RE4 is a fan favorite and would fly off of the shelves. Capcom could have also figured out a way to make a cool collectors edition for Resident Evil 4 that I am sure plenty of people would purchase.

Resident Evil Zero, 1, and 4 will be shuffling their way to Nintendo Switch on May 21st, with pre-orders starting this week on February 28th.
