Now, if there ever was a show we never expected to get a sequel Star Trek: The Next Generation would qualify. Still, that’s exactly what happened when Picard was announced and that Sir Patrick Steward would be returning to the role. Fittingly enough the show is also set many, many years after the show. It hasn’t been the absolute best-reviewed show but you gotta admire it! I mean, at the very least we all knew that Patrick Stewart would be amazing stepping back into the role! It’s not like the show is awful it’s just hard to capture what made The Next Generation so iconic, especially with the change in how the show is. The newest teaser trailer is teasing the return of one of the most iconic Star Trek villains of all time. Q returns in season 2 of Picard! I would link the teaser below but it seems to have been removed. Instead, you can check out the interviews conducted with the cast.
There is a bit of bad news though. Picard season one ended over a year ago now, so it’s been a while. Unfortunately, it seems like the second season is still a long way out as well. The pandemic seems to have taken a toll on the entertainment industry as a whole, which is rather unfortunate. Picard season 2 will be coming out in 2022 and will apparently be debuting on Paramount+. It’s rather exciting! I’m not even a Star Trek fan but even I might check it out because of Q’s return. I remember him always being one of the highlights of the show for me.
Season 2, based on the voice-over in the now-removed teaser, will most likely be about regret. But don’t do anything you’ll regret! I know 2022 sounds like a long time but it’ll be here before you know it! We’ll all explore the final frontier together once again! I can’t believe Q returns!
Picard will be debuting on Paramount+ in 2022!
