South Korean Star Is Making His Comeback

Psy was raking in money and acclaim in the West before BTS, Blackpink, and 2NE1 exploded on to the scene. Psy has now announced his return after four years of absence.
Psy announced the news on his official TikTok account, where he uploaded a vintage video from 2013 in which he talked about the triumphs of “Champion” in 2002 and the worldwide domination of “Gangnam Style” ten years later in 2012.Then, somewhat prophetically, he quipped to his audience that his next big hit might not
“I know a lot of you have high expectations for my next hit song. To be honest, I produced ‘Champion’ in 2002, and it took me exactly 10 years to produce a song that is more sensational than ‘Champion’ with the release of ‘Gangnam Style’ in 2012…
“Perhaps the next time you’ll meet a song like ‘Gangnam Style’ may be in 2022.”
His new album title, Psy 9th, and its release date are announced in the video: April 29.
Psy’s career in South Korea enjoyed a high point there in the early 2000s, but it was not until 2012 that his song “Gangnam Style” went viral in ways we had never seen before. He was the first Korean artist to top the iTunes Music Charts, defeating Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.“Gangnam Style” It became the first video to reach one billion views on YouTube after being uploaded in April of 2012.
Psy has released a number of popular songs throughout the years, including “Gentleman” and, in collaboration with artists such as Snoop Dog, Will.I.Am, and G-Dragon.
It’s clear that history is repeating itself, as “Gangnam Style” has gone viral once again on TikTok. Unlike the previous viral craze, in which people recreated the dance, the song is now utilized in films to inflict psychological trauma on viewers. Psy became a member of TikTok about a month after his song went global.
Psy 9th will be released on April 29.
