Things may be a little iffy with Chris Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at the moment, but his upcoming film Cowboy Ninja Viking is starting to shape up as Quantico star Priyanka Chopra is officially in talks to co-star.
The film is based on the graphic novel by A.j. Lieberman and Riley Rossmo and tells the story of Duncan, a man with a multiple personality disorder who was turned into a “triplet” thanks to a secret government program. So, essentially Duncan becomes part-Cowboy, part-Ninja, and part-Viking, which all culminate together to make him a badass assassin. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect role for Chris Pratt then please let me know who you think would be a better fit!
The film has actually been on quite a long journey to its 2019 release with Pratt having signed on to star three years ago. The film will be directed by Michelle MacLaren who has directed various episodes of Game of Thrones and Westworld and will be written by Dan Mazeau and Ryan Engle. The script has already gone through two previous drafts with one written by The Hangover II’s Craig Mazin and the other by Zombieland’s Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese.
Chopra hit the scene in Hollywood when she began starring on ABC’s Quantico as Alex Parrish in 2015. Since then she has also appeared on the big screen in movies such as Baywatch and A Kid Like Jake. Coming up she will star alongside Liam Hemsworth, Adam Devine, and Rebel Wilson in Isn’t It Romantic. Pratt is coming off quite a crazy summer where he appeared both in Avengers: Infinity War and the second installment of his Jurassic Park series Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Pratt will most likely spend another year reigning the summer box office when Cowboy Ninja Viking hits theaters June 28, 2019.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
