Princess Leia Will Appear in Final Star Wars Film

Todd Fisher, brother of the late, great Carrie Fisher, has confirmed that Leia will return for Star Wars: Episode IX. Carrie passed in December before filming could be completed on the new saga, but her brother and daughter, Billie Lourd, have granted Disney the rights to use recent footage in the finale. It was already stated the CGI would not be used in order to bring her back to the screen.

Todd Fisher said, “‘…how do you take her out of it?’ and the answer is you don’t.” Leia is such an important figure in the franchise and it would be hard this late in the planning of the final saga to remove her from the story. He believes that her legacy should continue. As do we all.

I have faith that Disney and Star Wars will do justice to Carrie and Leia and cannot wait, but am also not ready, for her appearance in The Last Jedi which opens December 15, 2017.
