Prince Harry and ‘Suits’ Star Meghan Markle are Engaged!

There’s going to be another Royal wedding! Suits star Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of Wales announced to the public on Monday that they are engaged with official announcements on Twitter.

There has been much speculation as to whether the pair were taking the next step and it appears that it wasn’t misplaced. The two became engaged earlier this month according to the Clarence House statement which also said that “Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.” The two are set to be married in Spring 2018.

Of course, the happy couple received tons of support from their families. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip said they were “delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness” in a statement and Prince William and Kate Middleton sent their congratulations as well – “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”
Meghan’s parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland were very excited about the announcement saying “our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.”
In their first appearance as an engaged couple this morning, people were able to get a look at Markle’s engagement ring that was designed by Prince Harry himself, which also features a touching tribute to the late Princess Diana.

The two have been dating since mid-2016 and their wedding will mark the biggest royal wedding since William and Kate in 2011. Itwill also make Markle the first American to marry a direct heir to the throne since Wallis Simpson married King Edward VIII in 1937.
