Power Rangers: Red Ranger Actor Austin St. John Expresses Grief Over Jason David Frank’s Death

Tragic news has surfaced that 49-year-old legendary Power Ranger star Jason David Frank has passed away. Austin St. John, who co-starred alongside Frank in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, and Power Rangers Turbo as the Red Ranger, has broken his silence on social media following early reports of the actor’s death. Messages from those closest to the original Green Ranger actor have confirmed his passing, and tributes have been pouring in from all over the world by fans and those who had the privilege of working with him throughout his career.

Following the death of fellow Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger star, Austin St. John (who played Jason Lee Scott, the first Red Ranger) took to Instagram to share a touching tribute. The photo shows the two actors smiling and seemingly getting along despite their previous feud. His caption read: “‘Once a ranger, always a ranger’ thoughts and prayers…”

As news of his death spread, other original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers stars took to social media to share their thoughts and memories. Walter Emmanuel Jones, who played the Black Ranger, wrote: “[C]an’t believe it…My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family.” Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Ranger, shared a touching message on Instagram: “Jase, you were beautiful and truly unique,” she began. “My life just won’t be the same without your frenetic, hilarious, caring, driven and creative ball of energy. I will always love you, dear friend. Please Rest now in Peace.”

As we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being, we ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this difficult time. Frank loved his family, friends, and fans very much, and he will truly be missed.
