I had the pleasure in Atlanta this past Walker Stalker Con of meeting Pollyanna McIntosh. While Jadis/Anne’s story has been one with many of ups and downs, and one that has made us have a love/hate relationship with the character, Jadis has intrigued me since her entrance on the show. The character cemented herself in my memory during the stand alone scene with Jadis where she executes mercy on her people once Simon murdered her people is one I will not forget.
With the ending of this Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, we find ourselves wondering how Jadis will fit into Rick Grimes extended story. I cannot imagine a story not including Anne somehow. I wonder how that talk will go considering the group who recused Rick Grimes is also the group trading people. Will Rick be accept this concept? Will they both rebel against this group together?
Unfortunately not many answers are available at this time. However, McIntosh did share a message with fans on her Instagram.
I’m also intrigued to discover more of a backstory for Anne. Who was Anne before Jadis? Who is Jadis without Anne? I’m also interested to see if they will weave the character somehow back into The Walking Dead with Rick inevitably because they need to return to their family. In Anne’s case, maybe she realizes that she no longer wants to go fast and she really did value what little time she spent with Gabriel.
Regardless, this opens an opportunity to continue exploring a character who has so much potential for continued growth as well as the man we have known from the beginning. Seeing them grow together is something I hoped for among my friends, but never dreamed would become a reality.
What do you want to see for Jadis/Anne’s continued journey within The Walking Dead universe? Do you think that she and Rick can bury the hatchet and finally come together to help each other? Let us know in the comments below.
