TWD delivered another powerful episode Sunday. Not only did we lose 2 characters (RIP Benjamin & Richard), this was a call to arms for Carol, Morgan and the Kingdom who have long resisted joining the fight. We saw Morgan crack under the stress of losing his protégé, Benjamin, and as a result brutally strangle Richard in front of King Ezekiel and knights of the Kingdom. Carol also learned the truth of the what is really happening at Alexandria. This episode set the stage nicely for the impending war to come.

For Morgan, losing Benjamin caused him to revert to a fragile state of mind (almost as bad as his mental state in ‘Clear’).  Fellow Fan Fest author, Ashley Dye, talks about Morgan’s rapid relapse in to madness in this article.

Carol learned of the horrors the Alexandrian’s are enduring under Negan’s rule from Morgan and that Glenn, Abraham and others paid the ultimate price for crossing the Saviors. She has now returned to the Kingdom to live and help prepare for the upcoming war while Morgan stayed behind at her cottage.

All of the actors did a superb job in this episode but Lennie James (Morgan) and Karl Makinen (Richard) were truly exceptional. As a viewer you felt the pain and loss their characters experienced. ‘Bury Me Here’ was written by Scott M. Gimple, who also wrote episode one (‘The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be’).

The Walking Dead episode fourteen, ‘The Other Side’, premieres Sunday, March 19th at 9pm EST on AMC.
