The cast of the Star Wars Han Solo stand-alone film continues to take shape with its newest addition, Paul Bettany. New director Ron Howard announced the casting via his Twitter account on Friday.
Howard tweeted a photo of himself along with Bettany on set and captioned the photo with, “The Outer Rim just got a little bit wilder.” About a half hour later, Howard followed up his initial announcement with a second tweet which read, “It’s my third opportunity to work with Paul. He’s a blast & so talented.”

Bettany most recently appeared in Captain America: Civil War as Vision and is also well known for his roles in A Beautiful Mind, A Knight’s Tale, Iron Man and Legion. He joins an already stellar cast including Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson.
Howard took over the helm of the stand-alone Han Solo film in June of this year after the unexpected firing of its named directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Despite the shuffle of directors and some casting, the film is said to be on schedule with filming and is expected to be released into theaters on May 25, 2018.
